Belize
Located in Central America, between Mexico and Guatemala, Belize is home to the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere.
Belize is also known for the famous Blue Hole, and three magnificent atolls. A country of approximately 9,000 square miles, Belize has mountain ranges, dense tropical jungles, mangrove swamps, and 266 square miles of offshore coral islands.
The barrier reef features cliffs, caves, and overhangs inhabited by a variety of marine life. The inner reef is home to staghorn and elkhorn coral, as well as barracuda, spawning grouper, stingrays, conch, and nurse shark. In the outer reef, divers can find mantas, jacks, black durgons, tuna, dolphin, turtles, and shark.
